Today I realized that I am able to set a routine to automatically play a specific type of music on any one or more of the alexa devices under my account. And one of those devices is an echo show in my mom's room at an assisted living facility in another location.
Therefore, from my phone away from the facility I am able to create a routine for "Alexa, at 9 AM every day and for one hour duration, play Pandora New Age Piano music on this specific echo show device and then turn it off in an hour".
Its amazing to me that the assisted living industry has not figured this out. I would think that someone could start a very successful business in which the client is not the facility, but the family of someone in assisted living. Or it could be something one sets up temporarily in a loved one's hospital room, etc.
The innovation is not just the technology, it is that there is no need for the facility or staff at the facility or the technology staff to do ANYTHING. A family member can buy such an echo device for very little, configure it in their own account, and use their own alexa account to remotely manage the device wherever it is, on wifi.
